What Is Vital Pulp Therapy?

Vital Pulp Therapy is a procedure performed when the pulp of a child's tooth can be saved. This treatment involves carefully removing the diseased pulp tissue while leaving the healthy pulp intact. After removal of the diseased tissue, a protective agent is placed to prevent bacterial growth and alleviate any discomfort. The tooth is then fully restored, often with the placement of a stainless steel crown. This method aims to preserve the vitality of the tooth, ensuring a healthy and functional smile for your child.


The main purpose of Vital Pulp Therapy is to eliminate pulpitis. By promoting the formation of reparative dentin or calcium bridge, so that it can continue to perform various physiological functions and finally achieve the purpose of preserving pulp vitality and the development of the root of young permanent teeth.
